Wrapping up the Trip

Back to Times Square--catching the evening tour of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Good ol' yellow cabs.

Gotta check the grain prices today.
 ...and the livestock.
 and stock market!
Hmm, it's kinda busy down here.
As we were going by, this was on a third floor of a building...

 Aha, Forbes buddy...

SoHo District--know for it's trendy shopping. Quite often celebrities are seen in this area.

Zippin' by Chinatown from the other side...

There are three main bridges..always remember BMW.
Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg
There are a total of 10 bridges and 1 tunnel.
A side note:  the Williamsburg Bridge has 2 heavy rail transit tracks, 8 traffic lanes, and a pedestrian sidewalk.
Brooklyn Bridge (above) is the oldest suspension bridge.  Opened in 1883 and is considered the most beautiful in the world.  So they say.

Entering Brooklyn--just a little fact!
Brooklyn is part of New York City.  If Brooklyn was it's own city, it would be the 4th largest city in the US.

Where Michael Jordan went to high school!
And this is the park where he played! Wahooo!
You can see the two new Twin Towers going up..
See how high up were were?  Had to duck for traffic lights, signs and tree branches.

This was a college..St. Francis college maybe? Not sure.

And lots of outdoor dining in the evening.
I don't remember how this worked...something do with counting seconds...
Eeek! Hand reaching out and steam pouring out..not sure what this was.

Back to Times Square..now we can see what it looks like at night!

 Police making a mess!

And it was busy at 10 pm in the evening....
 We never felt unsafe...

And that' s it...hope you enjoyed the pictures.
I would love to go back, so much to see and do!
By the way, New York City has only 8 million + people.
Manhattan is the wealthiest county in the USA.
All the areas we toured were in Manhatten except on the night tour going into Brooklyn.
Imagine this..Manhattan is only 22 square miles, 13 miles long and 2 miles wide with a population of 1,601, 948 per 2011 census.

It is very much a city of it's own culture and many languages are spoken here.
But it sure feels good to be home!

  1. Oh so much fun looking at your pics. Now that you have experienced it, we have to head out there together and you can give me the "real" tour, instead of just by your pics. (Even though it almost felt like I was there just by looking at your pics). Joleen
