Coastline on 101

We have explored 101 from San Francisco, CA to Aberdeen, WA...so just the northern tip of WA we still need to explore. If you don't know, 101 runs along the west coastline.  Highly recommend it.
These pictures are from Crescent City, CA to Lincoln City, OR.

Battery Point Lighthouse--Crescent City

Only accessible by foot at low tide.

Onto 101, let the exploring begin...

Most of the towns had flags on both sides of the streets on Labor Day.
Always a little nerve wracking when  roads are washed out....

 Cape Blanco

Hughes' House, not far from the lighthouse. Irish settler that farmed here. Very nice location.

 Umpqua River Lighthouse

Lots of sand dune recreation areas, that would be fun sometime!

Coast Guard looking for something or someone?

Sea Lion Caves--World's Largest Sea Cave

Take an elevator down 200 feet underground to see the cave. No sea lions in the cave today.
 All lazing on the rocks.

 Outside viewing area.
Check out their website. Live webcam and other fun pictures.

Back on 101--Lovely drive if you don't think about washouts and rock slides!

Yaquina Head Lighthouse--Newport Bay, Oregon

 Pelicans galore.

So ends the travel. Can't wait to explore the northern tip of WA!
